Fly-by

Nice try with the scarf, Jake, but I recognize those clothesThat warm breeze you Brits felt a bit ago was Jake Gyllenhaal as he redefined whirlwind with his sudden departure from London after less than a day's stay. Once again, I am kept in a state of mild bewilderment as I try to imagine what on earth it was in those two bags and the oblong container that Jake just had to have with him for his brief visit. Obviously it was not a fresh outfit for today's flight home.

I hope Jake got some sleep today. He looked tired, poor baby. Also, I don't know if it was the stress of his schedule, something he ate in London, or exposure to that Jordan character, but the dear boy has broken out overnight. Even Jake's pimples are more attractive than those of mere mortals. If you haven't already caught up, Wet Dark and Wild has graciously provided video of Jake's ordeal on Jonathan Ross yesterday. She's just added the green room footage, which I haven't seen yet but plan to appreciate when I get home tonight.

Why are you looking at me like that? I just read it, I didn't write it.Okay, as I was saying before I was rushed out the door, I've also managed to get hold of the Entertainmentstudios.com bit that TVGuide promised would show on 10/6. It didn't, of course. Being the tenacious Gyllenhaalic that I am, I wasn't going to give up so easily, and I set a series recording on my DVR. The damn thing finally happened at 4 am Saturday, so it's been uploaded. Not a big interview, but it's Jake talking about Douglas Freeman. Hell, it's Jake, and that's enough. We are so easy. Big thanks to Stephanie from IHJ for letting me know that the first upload somehow got clipped short! All better now.

I finally got to watch Jonathan Ross. He is very very strange.

I had a good laugh at Jakes break out. It makes me feel a little bit better about my break outs. Not so sexy on me. :)

Yes, I think strange is as good a word as any to describe that experience. And I always thought David Letterman was a bit of a trial for guests! Nothing compared to what Jake just endured. Most of it was wonderful, as we all knew it would be. I just wish Ross hadn't made that dumbass crack at the beginning. Jake clearly didn't appreciate it and I know I'm not the only fan of BBM that didn't, either.

The breakout warmed my heart, as well. Nothing like Jake giving us such a vivid reminder of his humanity just when I need it most. Made me want to hug him.

Let's just hope that this week brings better interviews. Maybe a comment about Jake in 08. I don't really think that it is going to happen.

I'm not so sure. Right now I actually think the chances are pretty good either the campaign or the Civil War album will come up. I mean, that's just such a wacky, far out thing that they've created, I think all those hosts would be idiots not to take advantage of it.

You are right. It would be extreamly funny. I just don't think that any of them have the balls to ask him about it. Our best bet for the Presisential bid is The Daily Show. Maybe Ellen. I will be watching with my fingers crossed. :)

I saw Jake on E news weekend this morning. I was a recap of the Rendition premire. He said something about his beard being fun to touch or something to that effect. I decided right then and there that he is trying to kill me. I even said out loud. "Jake are you trying to kill me?" If he keeps saying sexy things like that I just might not make it through the week. :)

Thanks for the links Cherita, you ladies did a wonderful job really...
I think that if Jake knew what kind of intelligent women he has on his fandom he couldn't help but ask you all out...one by one...

I've just watched the JR show and I found Jake charming, smart and not so uncomfortable after all...he's clever and this is more remarmakable considering his relatively young age...

I love your talking-back-to-Jake moment, BG, because I have so many of them myself. He does seem to like touching the beard, though. I wonder if it's as brillo-y as it looks? Exfoliating, even. *giggle*

Xenia, that would make a lovely fantasy, but I'm guessing the mere fact of my obsessing about him would be enough to convince him I'm rather unsuitable. I have to agree, Jake manages to handle most interviews and situations with such grace and charm, I continue to be impressed every time. Sure, he has his baffling moments, but some of those are intentional. ;) He's just got that winning combination of quick wit, intellect and charm that very few people possess, and unless the interviewer is a complete imbecile, it usually results in a priceless gem for us. Sometimes even then.
