With thanks to Stephanie at
IHJ, who apparently never sleeps, we have two new delights this morning before I've even brushed my teeth. First, go look at the website of
Interview Magazine. They've just made available the photos from
David Fincher's interview with Jake Gyllenhaal, and even a sound file with a few minutes of the recorded interview. When I said I'd like to see clean digital versions of these images, I didn't know
Interview would be so obliging. They do look much better this way, as far as color and quality. They're still silly, but who cares?
I haven't read the interview online (I won't say where because I don't want to get anyone into trouble), but I certainly appreciate it being there, as it means I may not have to buy the magazine after all. Yes, you heard me right. I don't make a habit anymore of buying magazines just because someone is in them. Been there, done that, cleaned up the fire hazard, all those years ago.
In addition to the
Interview treat, we've got this exciting new photographic evidence that Jake valet parks to buy coffee.
In truth, I hope he dined at the restaurant before leaving with his cup o' joe-to-go. Something about having to valet park just for takeout strikes me as really depressing. Of course, no one
forced Jake to buy overpriced pre-brewed coffee in a swanky paper cup. Maybe he's so used to this lifestyle that he doesn't even see how ridiculous it is.
All photos: IHJ.

At this moment I'm very annoyed because the click on the sound file of the interview doesn't work on the PC I'm using and I have absolutely NO IDEA why and I am in a rush to go home bla bla bla but I'm glad to have best quality pics :)
I agree about not buying magazines just because there is someone in them, I don't do it anymore. Neither for Jake.
Well, most likely Jake dined at that restaurant before buying some coffee cup and carrying it away with him, valet parking after having done both...otherwise yes it'd be pretty absurd...
BTW Jake? Coffee HAS TO be drinken ON THE SPOT! ;)
Don't fret too much over the sound file, Xenia. It's basically stuff that was already excerpted on Monday for us. But I do love hearing Jake talk.
I edited my post because I realized (duh) it sounded like the entire interview was available at the Interview site, which would make no sense. Hey, I was still in a rush to get to work when I typed it. Fortunately you are probably the only one who read it before I fixed it. ;) I'm going to go have a look now.
I couldn't hear it either. Oh well I know what he sounds like.
If Jake is on the cover of a magazine, I will buy it. Not a gossip rag or anything. But the GQ's and others I will. I must have the real pictures in front of me. I drove out to a 24 hour grocery store in below zero weather earlier this year for the GQ. Stupid I know.
I found it funny that he valet parked for carry out coffee too. Maybe he ate and then took his coffee to go because he had somewhere to be? Who knows. If I could afforded to valet park I admit, I would too. :)
I don't think it's stupid to buy the magazine. It would be stupid for me, though, because I'm such a freakin' packrat and have way too much junk as it is that I can't put away. I still might buy it, just so I can have it laying on the floor next to my bed, like GQ has been doing for the past...eight months or so? No, I'm really not kidding. Every once in a while I pick it up and read the article again. I'm just as pathetic as anyone else, and I know it.
It came in the mail today. That beautiful face on the cover. I'm sure it will be laying on the floor by my bed for a looooong time. :) My only disappointment was that the row boat picture is on the opposite side as the arm pit, I mean bike picture. I will def go with the bike picture if I decide to cut it out and hang it up.
You must try and find a copy of it. You will not be disappointed. The full page pictures of our boy are orgasmic.
Girls, don't get me wrong: I really don't buy any magazine even because I'm down here in Italy and I should do acrobatics to be able to grab them and sometimes I really have no energies to spare in such anticipation...
But I 'occasionally' ;) print some of Jake pictures and I leave them in sight in my room, while I'm studying or simply reading a book, it's like having him with me, enjoying his company...:)
I have him laying on my bed as we speak. It's always good to feel like he's in the room with you. Well it usually is. Sometimes you get carried away and can't leave your house for a while. :) Sorry that was a little too much information.
OT : Sorry but I had to post it on your blog Cherita:
Apparently Jake will be in Italy to attend the Rendition Premiere at the Rome Film Festival on the next 21st of October...
Now: I'll try to get the tickets for the Festival but even if I shouldn't succeed I will be happy to know his feet have been treading my native soil :D
Here's the link to the official site of the Festival :

Have a great weekend!
:) :) :)
LOL BirdGirl! I rarely leave my house anyway except for work, so it's generally not even noticed when I overindulge. My skin is so pale I look like an Anne Rice character. But since I'm already out of the house for the day, I'm planning on stopping at Barnes & Noble on the way home from work. I don't indulge my food cravings any more, so damn it, I'm going to indulge my Jake craving. And if B&N doesn't have it, there's a Borders on the same route home....
Xenia, thanks for the news on Rendition in Italy. I looked at the site this morning, and clicked on a link for the festival program, which popped up...in Italian. Does the site actually say that Jake will be attending? If so, I hope you can make it. You should print out the side-by-side photos of him with Michelangelo's David for him to autograph. I'd love to know how he'd react to that!
I don't know if I can make it to Rome really, apparently tickets are almost sold out already...:(
Those Gyllenhaalic people are everywhere, damnit...;)
The Festival site has an English version on the right side of the banner!;)
According to the Italian newspapers yes, Jake will be there, and he better be because the movie need it, HE need it since here in Italy he's not a star yet!:)
Since apparently I can't write...on the right side of the banner there's THE LINK to the English version...:P
Well, damn it, if the tickets are almost sold out, what are you waiting for? ;) Seriously, I hope you can make it if you want to, but if you can't, join the club. Did you know that we actually have a film festival down here in Florida, too? But no one ever comes to it.
I did see the English version of the site, but the PDF document that was linked to as a "programme" was in Italian. Maybe they've put up an English version since I was last there? I can check it out again later. Exciting times!
